Japanese Pixel Art

So… I’ve enjoyed collecting pixel art for -years- now. But there is one thing I’ve never quite made up my mind on…

Is it totally stupid to use pixel art with Japanese text plastered all over it?

I mean, I don’t speak Japanese, and even if I go and look up the meaning, I seriously doubt half the people who see the image will know WTF it means.

But…some of them are *so* cute, and I -really- want to use them because the images are applicable.

Like these that I saw today:

Granted, I could always just edit the text out…  but that’s really time consuming and also feels sorta wrong. Like I’m defacing the original art or something.

Am I over-thinking this?
